The team at BAS Ventures as collectively organized over 100 conferences in the US, Europe and Asia.  The team has worked with various nonprofit organizations and government entities in addition to the members of the asset management industry to help bring together the best-in-class events.

We use our organizational skills, networking ability and onsite conference experience to not only produce a resoundingly successful meeting, but to help our clients evolve and expand their outreach in the asset management community.

 

Alternative Investment Forum (AIF Global) 

BAS is currently consulting for AIF, an independent economic think tank focusing on institutional investment policy. Its mission is to foster education, communication and information exchange among institutional investors globally to help them achieve their investment objectivesBAS works with AIF’s membership, which consists of approximately 35 preeminent alternative asset management firms. Those firms are recommended and/or vetted by AIF’s Advisory Board, which is chaired by Harvard Business School Professor of Investment Banking Josh Lerner. AIF’s membership represents a cross-section of alternative investment strategies, styles and sizes.

BAS works with AIF's session leaders and Advisory Board to create an agenda that addresses the needs and interests of the community that AIF serves: institutional investors. BAS consults on content, database, administrative and logistics aspects of approximately six annual meetings in the United States and the United Kingdom.

 

The Association of Asian American Investment Managers (AAAIM) National Annual Conference 2015

BAS Ventures consulted for the non-profit organization, AAAIM, on its 2015 National Conference, which attracts approximately 200 attendees to discuss emerging manager programs, investments trends and alternative and traditional asset strategies. BAS assisted in recruiting pension plan sponsors, other allocators and investment consultants to the meeting.  BAS also aided with sponsorship sales and development, program content and speaker outreach.

 

RFK Compass conferences

BAS Ventures consulted on all aspects of the eleven RFK Compass conferences that the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice & Human Rights has hosted from 2012-2014. The RFK Compass conferences are invitation-only conferences focusing discussions on economic outlook, public policies, general investment management, traditional and alternative asset management as well as considerations for sustainability factors.  BAS Ventures was responsible for program content and development, speaker selection and management, sponsorship recruitment, marketing strategy, venue and vendor selection, catering needs, other logistics and onsite management. Each event drew between 100 to over 200 attendees. Conferences included:

  • 1st, 2nd and 3rd Annual West Coast Conferences held in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Half Moon Bay, California
  •  1st and 2nd Annual Midwest Conference in Chicago, Illinois in conjunction with the World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates
  • 3rd, 4th and 5th Annual Hyannis Port Conferences and Kennedy Compound events in Cape Cod, MA
  • 2nd, 3rd and 4th Annual Northeast Conferences in New York City 

 

Minnesota State Retirement Conference

BAS Ventures assisted with program development, speaker management, sponsor management, marketing and logistical management on this conference that addresses asset management challenges for public pension funds. The event was held in October 2013 at Rice Park in St. Paul, Minnesota, drew over 125 attendees.

 

Investment Professional Charities Annual Chicago and New York Fundraisers

BAS Ventures is has been assisting the annual investment management and hedge industry Chicago and New York City holiday fundraisers since 2014.  The events draw over 100 sponsors and 600 attendees annually.  Funds raised from the events are distributed among a variety of organizations focused on medical research and patient care. Past beneficiaries of these donations have included St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Parkinson’s Disease, Mercy Hospital NICU and CrossRoads of Michigan.  BAS Ventures is responsible for securing event sponsors and guests from pension plans, endowments, foundations and consulting firms.
